GFO Design LLC (“GFO Design”, “our”, “us” or “we”) is the company name for Karmasation. Your privacy is of the utmost importance to us. We want to make your experience visiting Karmasation.com (the “Site”) and using the Karmasation mobile device application (the “Application”) both satisfying and safe.

We feel you should fully understand our policy and the terms and conditions surrounding the capture and use of the information we gather from users of the Site and Application (together, the “Services”). This privacy statement discloses what information we gather and how we use it.

By using the Application, you consent to the collection and use of this information by Karmasation. Our privacy policy is subject to change without notice. If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on the Site and Application so that you are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances we disclose it. We advise that you revisit this privacy policy from time to time to review any changes.

Karmasation gathers two types of information about users:
a. Information that users provide through optional, voluntary submissions. These include (but are not limited to) information gathered during registration for Services and participation in Services (which includes anonymous participation in polls and surveys). Users will remain anonymous to other users within the Services. However, user-identifiable information is accessible to GFO Design as necessary.

b. Information Karmasation gathers through aggregated tracking information derived by tallying page views throughout our website and tracking use throughout different sections of the app to result in your karma profile. This information allows us to better tailor our website content and our app to users' needs and to help us better understand the demographics of our audience. Under no circumstances does Karmasation divulge any personal information linked to an individual user to a third party.
Karmasation Gathers User Information In The Following Processes:

Optional Voluntary Information
We offer the following services, which require some type of voluntary submission of personal information by users:
a. Registration
Users of the App must register in order to post messages and vote on other messages, although they needn't register to visit the website. During registration the user is required to supply their first and last name, validated email address, unique username, and password. All of this information, aside from unique username, may be updated as needed, at a later time, though the Settings menu in the Application.

b. Posting
Users of the App participate in the services by posting their daily actions/thoughts/experiences through the “Start a Karmasation” feature. Users may also include a picture with their post. Posting on Karmasation, opens a 24-hour poll for other users to vote on the post. Karmasation connects this information to the user so that we may then reward him or her with a good or bad karma point depending on the outcome of the poll. However, this post is anonymous to other users. As the idea of the app is to maintain anonymity through posts and votes, the user is encouraged not to post information that would give away his or her identity within the Karmasation community.

c. Voting
During the 24-hour period in which a poll is open, users may vote to decide if the post deserves good or bad karma. These interactive polls allow users to easily share their point-of-view with other users and see what our audience thinks about daily actions. Identification of those who vote is not disclosed to other users. Karmasation may use a system to "tag" users after they have voted, so they can vote only once on a particular question and so that they may receive good or bad karma points depending on the outcome of the poll. This tag is not correlated with information about individual users.

d. Reporting
Users may report a post from another user by simply pressing the “Report” button while reviewing that post. When a report has been submitted, user and post information is collected from involved parties. We reserve the right to review any related information for the purpose of safety and security and release to third parties only in the ways that are described in this privacy policy.

e. Location Services
The Locate Karma feature in Karmasation makes use of location-based data. If you allow these services, we will collect information about the Wi-fi routers closest to you and the cell IDs of the towers closest to you.

We use this information to provide the requested location-based service, not to identify you. You will be asked for your permission to allow location services.

f. Social Networks
While within Karmasation, your information remains anonymous to other users, however, we also allow you to share information through Facebook and Twitter/Twitpic. Once you share information with these social networks, your post on those social networks cannot remain anonymous.

We enable you to share information from Karmasation such as posts, photos, and your Karma Profile with others within your Facebook and Twitter/Twitpic networks. In order to do this, you need to log into your Facebook and/or Twitter accounts through the Settings menu. We do not collect and use your social network log-in information other than to allow you to share with those networks. We cannot control the actions of others with whom you may choose to share your pages and information. Also we cannot guarantee that the content you post on these social networks will not be viewed by others outside your network.

While you are free to share your own posts and profile, Karmasation does not condone or permit users sharing any content from the posts and profiles of others users.

g. "Email this to a friend" policy
Our site users can choose to electronically forward a link, page, or documents to someone else by clicking "e-mail this to a friend". The user must provide their email address, as well as that of the recipient. This information is used only in the case of transmission errors and, of course, to let the recipient know who sent the email. The information is not used for any other purpose.
Consistent with the Federal Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA), we will never knowingly request personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13 without requesting parental consent.

Usage tracking
We collect information about your mobile device such as your mobile device id (similar to a website IP address), device type, and mobile service carrier.

As is true of most websites, we automatically gather information about your computer such as your IP address, browser type, referring/exit pages, and operating system.
However, we do not correlate this information with data about individual users. Karmasation does break down overall usage statistics according to a user's domain name, browser type, and MIME type by reading this information from the browser string (information contained in every user's browser).

We may place a text file called a "cookie" in the browser files of your computer. The cookie itself does not contain Personal Information although it will enable us to relate your use of this site to information that you have specifically and knowingly provided. But the only personal information a cookie can contain is information you supply yourself. A cookie can't read data off your hard disk or read cookie files created by other sites. Karmasation uses cookies to track user traffic patterns (as described above).

You can refuse cookies by turning them off in your browser. If you've set your browser to warn you before accepting cookies, you will receive the warning message with each cookie. You do not need to have cookies turned on to use this site. However, you do need cookies to participate actively in message boards, forums, polling and surveys.

Karmasation uses any information voluntarily given by our users to enhance their experience on our site and services, whether to provide interactive or personalized elements or to better prepare future content based on the interests of our users.
As stated above, we use information that users voluntarily provide in order to send out electronic communications and to enable users to participate in posting and voting. Karmasation never shares mailing lists with any third parties, including advertisers, sponsors or partners.

When we use tracking information to determine which areas of our sites users like and don't like based on traffic to those areas. We do not track what individual users read, but rather how well each page performs overall. This helps us continue to build a better service for you. We track search terms entered in Search function as one of many measures of what interests our users. But we don't track which terms a particular user enters.

Karmasation creates aggregate reports on user demographics and traffic patterns. Because we don't track the usage patterns of individual users, an advertiser or sponsor will never know that a specific user clicked their ad. We will not disclose any information about any individual user except to comply with applicable law or valid legal process or to protect the personal safety of our users or the public.

We will share your information with third parties only in the ways that are described in this privacy statement.

We may disclose your personal information
a. as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, or similar legal process.

b. when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.

c. if Karmasation is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, you may be notified via email and/or a prominent notice on our Web site of any change in ownership or uses of your personal information, as well as any choices you may have regarding your personal information.

d. to any other third party with your prior consent to do so.

Karmasation operates secure data networks protected by industry standard firewall and password protection systems. Our security and privacy policies are periodically reviewed and enhanced as necessary and only authorized individuals have access to the information provided by our customers.
